Planned Fire Drills for Delaware County Businesses
When the alarm sounds, your people should already know where to go. Tri-State Fire Protection Services plans, runs, and documents fire drills for businesses, schools, and care facilities across Delaware County, PA. Our drills are led by a team with real fire service experience.
PLANNED FIRE DRILLS
PRACTICE BEFORE IT COUNTS
Would Your Team Know What to Do If the Alarm Went Off Today?
The fire alarm goes off. Some people grab their coats. Some wait to see if it is real. A few head for the elevator. Nobody is sure where to meet outside, and no one knows who is still in the building.
That confusion is exactly what planned fire drills are built to fix.

In a real fire, people have only a few minutes to get out. The ones who have practiced move faster and make better choices. They know the nearest exit, the backup exit, and where to meet once they are outside.
Planned fire drills give your team that practice in a calm, controlled way. They also show you the weak spots before a real fire does. Maybe a stairwell is blocked with boxes. Maybe no one checks the restrooms. Maybe the night shift has never done a drill at all.
Tri-State Fire Protection Services runs planned fire drills for offices, schools, daycares, senior living communities, stores, and warehouses across Delaware County. Our founder is a firefighter, and our team has seen real evacuations from the other side. We bring that experience to every drill we run.

WHAT WE DO
Planned Fire Drills From Start to Finish
We handle the whole drill, from the first walk-through to the final report. Here is what that includes.
Drill Planning
We walk your building, look at your exits and meeting spots, and plan a drill that fits your space and your people.
Running the Drill
We start the drill, watch how people move, and keep things safe and calm from start to finish.
Timing and Head Counts
We time how long it takes to clear the building and check that everyone is accounted for at the meeting spot.
Debrief With Your Team
Right after the drill, we go over what went well and what needs work, while it is still fresh.
Written Drill Reports
You get a report with the date, time, results, and fixes. It is ready for the fire marshal, your insurance company, or state inspectors.
Drills for Every Shift
Night crews and weekend staff need practice too. We can schedule drills to cover every shift.
Who Needs
Fire Drills?
Fire code and state rules call for regular fire drills in many kinds of buildings. Schools hold them every month during the school year. Hospitals and nursing homes run them on every shift. Daycares, apartment buildings, offices, and factories often need them too, depending on the building and the local fire code. Not sure what applies to you? Ask us.
WHAT TO EXPECT
What Happens During a Planned Fire Drill
Most drills take less than an hour from start to finish. Here is how a drill with our team goes.

We meet before the drill.
We review your exits, your meeting spot, and anyone who will need extra help getting out.
We let the right people know.
We call your alarm monitoring company so the fire department is not sent out by mistake.
We sound the alarm.
Your fire alarm goes off just like it would in a real fire, and the clock starts.
We watch the evacuation.
Our team spots slow exits, blocked doors, and anyone who stays behind or heads the wrong way.
We take a head count.
We check that everyone made it to the meeting spot and note how long it took.
We debrief and write it up.
We go over the results with you on site, then send a written report for your records.
Drill rules come from NFPA 101, the Life Safety Code, along with OSHA, Pennsylvania rules for schools and care facilities, and your local fire code. We help you figure out what applies to your building.
Drill Day Tip
Treat every drill like the real thing. No stopping for coffee, no grabbing coats, and no waiting to see if it is real. The habits your team builds during drills are the habits they will fall back on in a real fire.
DON'T WAIT
Signs Your Building Is Due for a Fire Drill
You do not need to wait for an inspector to ask. Any of these is a sign your team needs practice.
If any of these sound familiar, give us a call. One planned drill can show you a lot about how ready your team really is.
You can't remember your last fire drill.
You have hired a lot of new staff.
You moved, remodeled, or changed your floor plan.
Your night or weekend shift has never done a drill.
People ignore the alarm or wait to see if it is real.
No one is sure where to meet outside.
The fire marshal or your insurance company asked for drill records.
You have people who will need help getting out of the building.

What Our Customers Say
COMMON QUESTIONS
Fire Drill Questions We Get Asked Most
These are the questions business owners, school leaders, and facility managers ask us most.
Have additional questions? Contact Tri-State Fire Protection Services today to speak with our team.
How often should my business hold fire drills?
It depends on your building. Schools hold drills every month during the school year, and hospitals and nursing homes run them on every shift. Many offices and businesses hold one or two a year, based on their local fire code, insurance, or company policy. Tell us about your building, and we will help you figure out what applies.
Who should I call for planned fire drills near me in Delco?
Pick a team that has real fire service experience, will plan the drill around your building, and gives you a written report afterward. Tri-State Fire Protection Services is based in Folsom and was founded by a firefighter. Call us at (610) 707-8180 and see if we are a good fit.
Should fire drills be announced ahead of time?
It helps to start with an announced drill, especially if it has been a while or you have a lot of new staff. Once people know the plan, an unannounced drill is a better test of what they will really do in a fire. We can help you decide which one fits.
Will the fire department show up during the drill?
Not if the drill is set up the right way. We call your alarm monitoring company before the drill so they know it is a test and do not send the fire department.
What happens to people who need help getting out?
They need a plan before the drill, not during it. We help you identify who may need help, such as people who use wheelchairs or small children, and who will help them. Then the drill tests that plan.
Do I need to keep records of my fire drills?
Yes. Many buildings are required to keep a written record of each drill, including the date, time, and results. We give you a report after every drill, so your records are ready when the fire marshal or an inspector asks.
How much does a planned fire drill cost?
It depends on the size of your building, how many people are in it, and how many shifts need a drill. Tell us about your building, and we will give you a quote.

We’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
