Fire Alarm Inspection and Maintenance for Delaware County Buildings
A fire alarm has to work the first time, every time. Tri-State Fire Protection Services inspects, tests, maintains, and monitors fire alarm systems for businesses and property owners across Delaware County, PA. We are a local team based in Folsom.
FIRE ALARM INSPECTION & MAINTENANCE
READY TO SOUND
Is Your Fire Alarm System Ready to Do Its Job?
A fire alarm has one job. It has to warn everyone in the building in time to get out. Most days it sits quietly on the wall, so it is easy to forget that it needs care.
Regular testing is the only way to know your alarm will work.

A lot can go wrong without anyone noticing. Smoke detectors collect dust. Backup batteries wear out. A wire comes loose during a renovation. The panel starts beeping, someone silences it, and the problem gets forgotten.
Fire code calls for a full fire alarm inspection and test at least once a year. The fire marshal and your insurance company will both ask to see the report.
Tri-State Fire Protection Services handles fire alarm inspection, maintenance, and monitoring for offices, schools, apartment buildings, stores, churches, and warehouses across Delaware County. Our company was founded by a firefighter and 911 dispatcher, and our team takes every alarm system seriously.

WHAT WE DO
Fire Alarm Inspection, Testing, Maintenance, and Monitoring
One team checks your whole fire alarm system, from the panel to the last smoke detector. Here is what we handle.
Annual Inspection and Testing
Fire code calls for a full fire alarm inspection and test at least once a year. We test the system, record the results, and give you the report.
Smoke and Heat Detector Testing
Dirty or aging detectors can cause false alarms or miss a real fire. We test each one and tell you which ones need to be cleaned or replaced.
Battery Testing and Replacement
Backup batteries keep your alarm running when the power goes out. We test them at each visit and replace the weak ones.
Repairs and Troubleshooting
Panel beeping? Trouble light on? A device that will not reset? We track down the cause and fix it.
Fire Alarm Monitoring
An alarm that sounds in the building also has to reach someone who can send help. We offer fire alarm monitoring for no more than $65 per month per dialer, and we check your signals at every inspection.
Reports and Records
You get a written report after each inspection. We follow your town's filing rules, so your records are ready when the fire marshal asks.
WHAT TO EXPECT
What Happens During a Fire Alarm Inspection
Your fire alarm system gets a full test at least once a year. Here is what our tech does on each visit.

We put the system on test.
We call your monitoring company first, so the fire department is not sent out by mistake.
We check the control panel.
We look at the lights, the power supply, and the wiring, and we check for any trouble signals.
We test the backup batteries.
They have to run the system when the building loses power.
We test the detectors and pull stations.
Each smoke detector, heat detector, and pull station should set off the alarm.
We test the horns and strobes.
They need to be loud enough and bright enough in every part of the building.
We check the signal to your monitoring company.
Each alarm should reach them.
We put the system back in service and write it up.
You get a report for the fire marshal or your insurance company.
The rules behind all of this come from NFPA 72, the national fire alarm code. We keep up with the code so you do not have to.
Please be aware that fire alarm testing can be loud at times. The horns and strobes will go off during the visit. Let your staff and tenants know ahead of time so nobody is caught off guard.
DON'T WAIT
Signs Your Fire Alarm System Needs Service
Your fire alarm will often tell you when something is wrong. Here is what to watch for.
Any one of these is a good reason to call. A small problem now is easier to fix than a failed inspection or an alarm that does not sound.
The panel is beeping or showing a yellow trouble light.
Your last inspection was more than a year ago.
You keep getting false alarms.
A smoke detector is covered, painted over, or hanging loose.
A horn or strobe did not work during a fire drill.
You remodeled, added walls, or changed how a room is used.
Your monitoring company says it is not getting signals.
You took over a building and can't find the inspection records.

What Our Customers Say
COMMON QUESTIONS
Fire Alarm Questions We Get Asked Most
These are the questions building owners and property managers ask us most.
Have additional questions? Contact Tri-State Fire Protection Services today to speak with our team.
How often does a fire alarm system need to be inspected?
A fire alarm system needs a full inspection and test at least once a year. Some parts need a look more often, and your town may have its own rules. If you can't remember your last inspection, you are probably due.
Who should I call for fire alarm inspection near me in Delco?
Pick a company that is close by, tests every device, and gives you a written report. Ask if they work with your monitoring company during the test. Tri-State Fire Protection Services is based in Folsom and was founded by a career firefighter. Call us at (610) 707-8180 and see if we are a good fit.
Why is my fire alarm panel beeping?
A beeping panel with a yellow light is a trouble signal. It means part of the system needs attention. Common causes are a weak battery, a loose wire, a dirty detector, or a lost connection to the monitoring company. Silencing the panel stops the noise, but it does not fix the problem.
Will the alarm go off during the inspection?
Yes. The horns and strobes have to sound so we can test them. We put the system on test with your monitoring company first, so the fire department is not sent out. Let your staff and tenants know before we arrive.
What causes false alarms?
Many false alarms come from dirty or aging smoke detectors. Dust, steam, cooking smoke, and construction work can also set them off. Regular testing and cleaning cuts down on false alarms.
Do I still need an inspection if my alarm is monitored?
Yes. Monitoring means someone gets the signal when your alarm goes off. It does not test your detectors, batteries, horns, or strobes. Only an inspection does that.
How much does a fire alarm inspection cost?
Fire alarm inspections start at $150. The final price depends on the size of your building and how many devices are on the system. We recommend getting a quote before service, so you know the cost up front.
How much does fire alarm monitoring cost?
We offer fire alarm monitoring for no more than $65 per month per dialer. The dialer is the part of your system that sends the alarm signal to the monitoring center. Many buildings have just one.
